About us

The Rainbow Foundation is an award winning charity which has been effectively promoting good mental health and wellbeing whilst reducing loneliness and isolation since 1994.

Registered Charity Number 1199932

Our mission is...

…to help older people to regain their sense of worth, and to provide access to support, services and facilities that empower people of all ages to retain as much independence as possible with an emphasis on rights, value and contribution.

Our three care hubs based in Marchwiel, Penley and Chirk provide access to Day Opportunities (sometimes referred to as day care) and Rainbow Meals (a meals to you service), a range of Social Prescribing activities including peer support groups, lunch clubs and community classes, community transport, volunteering and much more.

Within the community...

…The Rainbow Foundation provides a Rainbow Care and Support service which brings our award-winning service directly to the homes of our clients within the community. Alongside this, our innovative Community Wellbeing Team provides a social prescribing service available through all GP surgeries across Wrexham as well as a team of Community Agents who work across Wrexham Maelor South.

We also off a range of volunteer opportunities, community transport links and community development activities to ensure that the support networks are in place to allow local communities to reach their full potential.
