Within our Day Opportunities and Rainbow Meals services and our Lunch Club groups, we aim to provide a homemade healthy enjoyable meal. Food is an important part of keeping our service users healthy and physically well.
Part of maintaining a person’s health and wellbeing is to ensure that the person can have an enjoyable nutritious meal. Social eating has been shown to have a positive effect on mental health, wellbeing, and social inclusion. Therefore, we aim to extend opportunities for individual to join in with social eating either at the centre or within the surrounding villages.
The role of the Assistant Chef is a key part of this ambition to enable us to deliver delicious meals to our service users, which are nutritious and meet the client’s dietary requirements.
As well as preparing the meal you will be developing links with our volunteers, aiding, and supporting them to deliver lunch clubs in various areas across South Wrexham.
Alongside our Kitchen Supervisor and Volunteer Coordinator, you will need to be able to build good relationships with our volunteers and support them to carry out the serving of food safely and hygienically.
