Clients from The Rainbow Foundation’s award-winning Day Opportunities Service in Penley and Marchwiel, joined those in Chirk for an afternoon tea dance to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Chirk opening.
Jean who has been attending Chirk’s Day Opportunities service for the past year says: “I look forward to coming here every week. The staff are lovely and it’s wonderful to meet up and spend time with my friends.”
Helen who usually attends the Marchwiel Day Opportunities service added: “It’s been so lovely to all get together. It’s like what we used to do years ago.”
Ian Pope, Director of Operations for The Rainbow Foundation says: “as an active aging charity we are delighted that our service has been so well received in Chirk, its assisted people to stay connected to friends, to stay active and eat well, but most importantly to keep enjoying life!”
“Feedback from families has been really positive, with families saying that their loved ones are happier; regaining a sense of purpose and something to look forward to again since joining us.”
“We’d like to thank Chirk Parish Council for their support in letting us hire the Parish Hall too, it’s a great venue for our service, which is clearly benefiting the local community.”
The Rainbow Foundations Day Opportunities service focuses on enhancing and developing relationships while building self-confidence and providing routine. This enables clients to better manage their health, wellbeing and self-care while also combating loneliness.
